FORGET THE HATS…. LET’S TALK ABOUT THE JEWELS AT THE ROYAL WEDDING!
Price Harry and Meghan Markle officially tied the knot this weekend, which means we get to take a look at all the jaw-dropping jewels worn by Royalty and the A-list guests who attended to witness the big day. Forget the hats, we want to talk jewelry at the Royal Wedding!
Before we get to the jewels at the wedding, let’s talk about Meghan Markle’s engagement ring. Prince Harry gave her a gorgeous 3-stone engagement ring. The two side stones (that surround the 3 carat cushion cut diamond) are from Price Harry’s late mother’s personal collection. We have been told that the center stone is from Botswana.
Once the vows were completed, Price Harry presented his bride with a wedding band made of Welsh gold, which Queen Elizabeth gave Meghan as a wedding gift. Harry was given a platinum wedding band with a textured finish.
What about that Tiara?!? Her something borrowed, was a tiara straight from the Queen Elizabeth’s personal collection. According to Kensington Palace, Meghan wore Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau tiara which dates back to 1893. The tiara is “formed as a flexible band of eleven sections, pierced with interlaced ovals and pavé set with large and small brilliant diamonds.” It features a detachable brooch of ten brilliant diamonds at the center. The bandeau and the brooch were passed down by Queen Mary to The Queen in 1953. We think the dress was very understated which left everyone staring at the exquisite diamond tiara.
Look around at most weddings and you are bound to see a few strands of pearls. But, the pearls that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, was wearing were extraordinary. She wore a multi-strand pearl necklace featuring a pink sapphire stone as the center of the brooch (to accent her pink blush suit).
Drop earrings seemed to be the pick for the wedding! Here are just a few of our favorites.
Amal Clooney had us yearning for her earrings. They were a pair of 17 carat pear-shape drop diamond earrings from Lorraine Schwartz.
Kate Middleton wore drop earrings featuring a large pear and oval shaped Lemon Quartz stones surrounded by diamonds. The jewelry was designed by Kiki McDonough and retails for over $5,000.
The queen of TV… Oprah also had on some stunning diamond drop earrings.
What jewelry did you love the most at the wedding? We would love to hear!
