MY FAVORITE PAIR OF DIAMOND EARRINGS
The Saturday morning before Christmas, I put on one of My Favorite Pair of Diamond Earrings. This was the very first piece of jewelry that my husband gave to me as a gift when we were dating, a beautiful pair of dangle diamonds earrings.
We stopped out to eat for breakfast before I was going to work, yes, I had to work on Christmas eve! After I took off my coat, for some reason I touched my ear and realized I forgot to put on both earrings. (we had company staying with us from out of town, and I know I was slightly distracted while getting dressed that morning).

Of course the very first thing that I did when I got home that evening was to head straight over to my dresser to put the earring on. The only problem was.. (here is where we insert the sad face emoji) the earring was not there. My Favorite Pair of Diamond Earrings was no longer there.
My husband went to check in the car to be sure that the diamond earring didn’t fall off in the car. NO Luck!! My husband then immediately called the restaurant to inquire if the earring had fallen off in the booth along the wall where I had laid my coat. NO LUCK. I tried very hard not to be upset as we were on our way out to dinner with my son, daughter-in-law and grand kids for a birthday celebratory dinner.
Eating Dinner wearing My Favorite Pair of Diamond Earrings
The next morning my husband and I went to walk along the gutter in front of the restaurant to see if, after someone had shoveled the snow, that is where it ended up. NO LUCK. We checked our yard along the sidewalk and the gutter in front of our house. If you’ve ever lost anything in the snow, especially a small piece of jewelry, you know that it is really hard, if not impossible to find lost jewelry in the snow. The resolve I took was that I simply hoped that whomever found my earring will enjoy it as I have. Since I’m a jeweler, I realize that it could be made into a pendant or taken apart and made into another piece of jewelry, as this would make an unexpected present for the holidays. I hope in my heart it will bring the finder as much happiness wearing the earring as much as I enjoyed having and wearing it. (I will tell you I still keep hoping and looking for the earring each time I get into our car at home, alas to no avail).
Looking for my lost diamond earring
There is hope for happiness of lost jewelry, as I had a client that related a similar story to me about his lost ring that has a strange twist with a happy ending. He had a ring for a very long time and wore the ring to the gym each day when he went for his daily workout. He thought he put the ring in his bag in the locker, as he does every day, but when he got home, he realized he didn’t have his ring. His thought was he must not have dropped his ring into his bag, but rather he must have dropped his ring on the bottom of the locker. When he went to lost and found the next day at the gym, he was amazed, there was his ring…. or was it?
That evening, after he completed his workout routine he went home and put the ring back on. The ring that he retrieved in the lost and found appeared to be the same exact ring but it no longer fit his finger! He brought the ring in to ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø to be resized. The ring was 1.5 sizes larger than his original ring! What are the odds that our client who lost his ring, found another ring that appeared to be the exact same ring as his, but was lost by someone else? Spooky, strange, and lucky are just view adjectives that come to mind about this ring. Maybe the other guy found my clients ring and had it resized to fit him!!

Have you had a similar experience? Please share it with us!
This ring now has a happy home and hopefully the other lost ring found it’s way to a new happy home as well. I told our client that good things always come out of bad if you just look deep enough. I hope my earring has brought someone else happiness as well.
